An unexpected evening of Airmail, George V and South Africa
The scheduled talk for our late September meeting was supposed to be Air Mail Letter Cards of WWII however due to illness the talk was rescheduled to some time in the future.
To fill the gap in the calendar three members kindly agreed to give talks on their collecting areas, so we had Carol on Airmail Etiquettes, Graham on the Definitives of George V and Malcolm on the stamps of South Africa.
As most of the material was simply lifted from collections it was not standard ‘display’ material but the quality, variety and depth of interest across all the areas made for a fascinating evening.
The photographs of the displays shown below give you an idea of the quality of material on display.
The society would like to thank the three members concerned for stepping up to the plate at short notice!
