Members celebrate with a competition and quiz at the Christmas Party

As is our tradition, the annual Christmas Party was held in January and was well attended by a great many members.

We were saddened to note the death of one member over the Christmas period and also that a number of long-standing members were unable to attend through ill health. Undeterred though the members that were able to attend had a wonderful time.

As usual, there was an excellent selection of food for everyone and an oversubscribed raffle where there were so many raffle prizes that half of them were held back until the February meeting.

Our Secretary, Carol, presented her fiendishly difficult Christmas Quiz as always and members enjoyed the challenge. The annual competition for the shield was also very well subscribed with a great many members bringing material and the prize was eventually won by Nick Rolfe with his display on Aerophilately.
