Falkland Islands display shows philatelic rarities from the island
The Falkland Islands have long held a special place in the hearts of many UK philatelists, not least because of their great distance from Britain. As one of the furthest flung outposts of the British Empire the islands has delivered some interesting postal history over the years.
The presentation given by Mike Roberts really highlighted this with an astonishing display of ultra-rare Falklands island material. In many cases, we were looking at the only known item in existence of it’s type and where there were only half a dozen or so surviving, Mike displayed the majority of them.
Clearly the work of a lifetime, this award-winning display came to Northwich for one night only but if you missed it, you can catch it again at London 2020.
