Members evening featuring letters E and F start the season with creativity
The first meeting of the 2022/23 season got underway with a very well attended members evening, where ten people offered to show material relating to the letters E and F. What transpired, and never fails to amaze us, is the creativity of the members and their diversity of thinking about how these letters can relate to material.
There are, of course, some easy topics that are covered by these letters, but the material on display went way beyond this thinking and covered a huge range of diverse topics including:
- Edward VII – GB and African States
- Egypt
- Football
- First Flight Covers London to Paris 1919
- Expo Overprints on GB Booklets & Minisheets
- French Southern & Antarctic Territories
- France Air Stamps
- Flaws on Stamps
- Elizabeth II on Cover
- Expectations
- Fake Forces Forgery
- Express Delivery Labels
- Entires
- Fishing
- Edinburgh Philatelic Bureau
We could, of course, have seen so much more material but we ran out of time.
We would like to thank the members for serving up some unexpected treats and we look forward to the meeting later in the year where we will be presenting the letter G and H. We can’t wait!
