Annual Christmas Party and Quiz

As is tradition with our society, we had our Christmas Party in January and despite the roadworks making it harder for some people to reach us, a good time was had by all who attended.

The proceedings set off with our Secretary, Carol, producing her annual Christmas Quiz which this year involved both a caption competition and a ‘spot the language’ competition. Lots of prizes arrived for the raffle and at the end of the night, everyone went home with something to mark the occasion.

The Annual Plate competition for a six-page display was won by Steve Speak and his Farthing collection, which just pipped some other interesting entries to the prize. Also on show were Spanish Regional Costumes, World Ski Championships held in Norway, The West Indies Federation, and Morocco Agencies overprint stamps.

Winners of the competitions got to choose their prizes and as you can see from the photographs, Malcolm ended up with the now traditional box of postcards.

Members who were not present should note that membership dues were collected at this meeting and the Treasurer will be happy to collect them from you at the next meeting.
