Moving the Mail by Rail in the UK

The society are very grateful to Mrs Yvonne Wheatley who gave a talk on 30th September based around the theme of ‘mail by rail’.

The talk included a wide variety of material across many years showing how mail was collected, sorted, distributed and cancelled on its route. As well as many fabulous covers Mrs Wheatley was also able to show a range of Railway related ephemera including items as diverse as the 1962 rule book for mail handling on TPO’s.

A certificate of thanks was presented to her by Brian Lythgoe on behalf of the Society.
