Annual General Meeting 2024 and bring, buy and exchange
There was a good turnout for the society’s Annual General Meeting, which was held on 29th October.
Reports were received from all the officers, with the Secretary reflecting on how strong the society still is relative to other local societies, some of whom have recently closed. We mourned the losses of several members who passed away this year and the Secretary particularly noted the loss during the year of our Chairman, Myra. The Treasurer confirming that our financial position continues to be stable.
After the reports, there was the small matter of election of officers; Jim Hart became Chairman and Jonathan Guy became Vice Chair. The positions of Secretary and Treasurer remain unchanged.
After the meeting, members had the opportunity to view and purchase several lots of stamps, albums, stockbooks and covers at a range of prices, with several bargains being snapped up by those in attendance.
The meeting closed with a reminder that the next event is the Chairman’s evening and that will be entitled ‘Bits of Barbados’ on 12th November.
