A.G.M. and bring an buy
The society’s Annual General Meeting was held on 31st October and was well attended by a large number of members.
Reports were received from all the incumbent officers, with the Chairman reflecting on how strong the society is relative to other local societies, the Secretary reminding us that average attendances have been healthy throughout the last year and the Treasurer confirming that our financial position is stable.
After the reports, there was the small matter of elections and Myra Entwistle acceded to the position of Chair whilst Jim Hart was voted in as our new Vice Chair. The positions of Secretary and Treasurer remain unchanged.
After the meeting, members had the opportunity to view and purchase several lots of stamps, albums and covers at a range of prices, with the bargain of the night being a nice G.B. collection being sold at around 5% of catalogue value.
The meeting closed with a reminder that the next event is the new Chairman’s evening and that will be on New Zealand Airmails on 14th November.
