Annual General Meeting and Bring, Buy & Exchange

The Society Annual General Meeting was held on Tuesday 8th November 2002 along with a bring, buy and exchange forum afterward.

The meeting was well attended with very few apologies and after the minutes of the last AGM were read and approved, the meeting went on to hear the officers’ reports. Reports from the Chairman, Secretary, and Treasurer were presented, all of which demonstrated that the club is in good health. After an exceptional year for donations, we managed to improve the bank balance and still enjoy very high-quality speakers and displays over the period.

It was noted during this year that we lost Queen Elizabeth II and therefore bought to a close over sixty years of philately with a single monarch.

A vote of thanks was offered to both the Treasurer and Secretary of the club, both stalwarts who continue in their roles for the coming year. The Chairman, Jonathan Guy handed over the role to the Vice Chairman, Neil Slater, who is now chair for the 22/23 season.

We discussed the Christmas party arrangements, to be held in January, after which members were free to peruse a range of materials that had been brought for the bring and buy. The meeting closed at 21:30.
