Chairman’s evening turned up some unexpected delights
Northwich Philatelic Society members enjoyed a memorable Chairman’s evening with a fantastic display of material illustrating the development of airmail services in the Middle East from 1918-1930.
The material covered both the airmail and then the subsequent overland services and contrasted the issues faced with getting mail to far flung parts of the Middle East after WWI.
Comprehensive research into the philatelic material shed light on the social, political and aviation history of this strategic area during a time of great change.
The society would like to thank our Chairman for arranging such a wonderful evening.
